All AgesProgram Description
Body
An engaging session where beekeeper Chris Vario will demonstrate the process of extracting honey from a honeycomb, alongside a detailed discussion on the honey harvesting process. We will also explore local nectar sources, learn about different honey varieties, and uncover the distinctions between beekeeper honey and store-bought options. Additionally, Chris will share valuable tips on identifying high-quality honey by deciphering packaging labels, ensuring you select the finest grade of honey available. A variety of honey products from Sonny Rose Ranch will be displayed and available for sale.
Phipps Master Gardener Marina Pawlesh will also join us to discuss what plants bees, butterflies, and other pollinators are attracted to as they sustain our ecosystem. Pollinators are responsible for bringing us one out of every three bites of food.
We will have samples of the pollinator plants that bees are attracted to, and we encourage the planting of these invaluable tools in the process of food growth and maintenance in our communities.
